Sox Countdown | What We’ve Been Up To In My Absence
Lets get down to business, Top 3 get photos. I’ve been out for awhile and I figure theres a lot to talk about, so heres my way of saying. I’M BACK, HUZZAH.

Wake Up and Smell The Coffee
7 IP
1 Hit
4 BB
5 Ks
This is the third start that Wakefield has completely annihilated the other team. Cleveland is a damn good team to annihilate. Cliff Lee pitched absolutely masterfully, and Wakefield 1-Up’d the Cy Young winner with his own absolutely amazing performance.
Jacoby Ellsbury again showed that he is, in fact, a web gem production machine catching one catch while running full speed (and I’m entirely surprised he didn’t keep going straight into the wall) and another diving on a bloop into shallow center. Props to you crazy *******.
The game breaker came in the form of Jason Bay yet again! After that insane home run off Mariano Rivera, i didn’t think he could pull that off twice. Boy was i wrong
9th inning.
2 On, 1 Out
Kerry Wood, shut down closer, pitching for the tribe…
BAM. 3 run homer.
Papelbon proceded to come out and put the game in the bag.
I have to say i’m a tiny bit freaked out at the startling lack of movement coming from his fastball.
Papelbon’s fastball used to rise, and Papelbon not only changed his armslot, but not has a straight fastball rather than a rising fastball.
In a completely opposing light of hope: Papelbon has not been striking out many batters… until today when he got 2 Ks.
I won’t worry too much about the cinco ocho.
Just take it from the shirt his teammates wear (but strangely enough i cannot find):
“Cinco ocho: He don’t know how he do. He just do.”
Thinks Japanese history is a bit too difficult,

Introduction I
What am i writing for?
I love my baseball.
More specifically. I love the Red Sox
I was raised in California, my Dad hails from Boston.
In my house, Red Sox was the team the ruled the house. Red Sox was the religion. My dad made sure i was watching when the Sox won it all in 2004, and it made his year. From that point on, my dad proceeded to collect the autograph of every memeber of that team down to the coaches, the GM, the owner, and of course Tito. Now my dad’s shelf is filled with a huge line of baseballs. Someday, they’ll be passed to me.
Currently, I’m a sophmore in college. Unfortunately my resident baseball team is NL, and sadly i never see my beloved Red Sox.
I live in Colorado, and in 2007, some higher power decided he loved me. In 2007, the heavens sent the Red Sox to Colorado.
My dad, being the insane obsessed fan he is, flew down to colorado and bought tickets for two games.
I was then given a choice:
Game 3
or
Game 4
Being the smart child, I chose Game 4… I felt a sweep coming and i wanted to see it end.
Boy was I right.
Game 4, I watched the sweep occur, I watched Jonathan Papelbon close the game, and I watched him Riverdance on the field. This was the moment I found my favorite player.
Up until this point, I loved the team but I hadn’t had that particular push to find a favorite, but Papelbon’s enthusiasm, drive, and absolute bat **** behavior gave me a damn good reason to like him.
ANNNNNYway…
I’m here to write about the Sox. Sox are my life, which is bad news for my grades, and I feel with this type of thought process, I should be writing things down.
Living on MLB.tv right now,
-Mike
